ARISA is a DNA-based assay developed in-house by Bioscience. It counts the microbial operational taxonomic units present in your soil across nine microbial groups, benchmarked against a fully characterised reference soil. This is the test that shows what a biological programme actually did to your soil: run it before you apply anything, then again 6–12 months later. Almost no biological supplier can offer this, because it needs a genetics laboratory. $300 per sample for 6–30 samples.
